Job Description

What you'll do:

Lead/Support projects in IoT, AI, Robotics, Automotive, Medical and Electronics/Electrical Engineering.

Apply machine/deep learning (DNNs, computer vision, audio/image processing) to solve real-world problems.
-
Work with cloud computing, high-performance computing (HPC), and simulation tools.
-
Design and train neural networks (e.g., CNNs, RNNs, Transformers) for tasks like computer vision, signal processing, or autonomous systems.
-
Implement Machine Learning pipelines (data collection, preprocessing, model training, deployment).
-
Ensure projects meet Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) requirements.
-
Track progress, prepare technical reports/proposals, and align with supervisor/team goals.

Engage with universities and industry partners (e.g., joint research, tech transfer).
-
Organize workshops, seminars, exhibitions to showcase innovations.
-
Support ad hoc projects and occasional travel (e.g., to Mainland China/overseas for collaborations).
You'll be a good fit if you have/are any of below:
-
Doctoral Degree holder in Data science, Computer Science, Data/System Engineering, Microelectronic, Mechatronic/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic/Biomedical Engineering, Robotics and Automation, Artificial Intelligence or related disciplines

Experience in R&D, government projects and patent applications preferred but not necessary

Experience in conducting research in supercomputing, microelectronic, digital signal processing, IoT communication technologies, wireless communication, big data analytics, automotive technologies, sensor technologies, computer science, automation is an advantage

Knowledge and experience in any ONE of the following expertise will be is a plus:
-
Hands-on skills in Keras, Tensorflow, Caffe, PyTorch, cuDNN, TensorRT, CUDA, MLX.
-
Robotic, ROS, SLAM, ARKit, OpenCV, Point cloud data processing.
-
LLM and NLP deployment.
-
Internet of Things (IoT) devices and/or Information Communication Technology.
-
System and Software development (in C/C++, Python or Java, etc.)
-
Build computing infrastructure, cloud computing and/or computing clusters.
-
Chip design and/or Hands-on skills in RISC-V programming.
-
Background in mechanical/electrical/electronics design, CAD, simulation tools.

Strong analytical mind with problem solving skills

Good command of English and Chinese
-
Applicant will be assigned to different projects subject to relevant working experience

A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered. The successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
