Job Description

What you'll do:
- Accounting Operations Oversight:
- Manage and supervise all Accounts Payable/Receivable activities, including vendor invoice payments, staff claims reimbursement, government funding disbursement, customer invoice issuance/settlements, and other payments/receipts
- Ensure all transactions are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Cash and Treasury Management:
- Monitor the cash position of the Council.
- Drive debt collection and manage treasury activities, including time deposits, bank accounts, and corporate card administration.
- Month-End and Financial Reporting:
- Take full ownership of month-end closing, including accounting entries and analytical reviews of the AP/AR and Treasury areas
- Support the preparation of monthly reporting packages, Council papers, and audit schedules.
- Process Improvement & Digitalization:
- Lead and support improvement projects aimed at simplification and digitalization of accounting processes and internal controls.
- Act as the process owner for the SAP AP/AR modules and Concur system.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, financial advisors, and bankers.
- Ensure smooth communication and collaboration across departments and with external partners.
- Ad-hoc Support:
- Assist in ad-hoc assignments and reporting as required by the Finance team
You'll be a good fit if you have/are:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related disciplines, with substantial relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of solid experience in accounting and finance duties with multinational or large-scale organizations
- Qualified Accountant, with experience and knowledge of HKFRS 15
- Pro-active problem solver, independent, self-motivated, results-driven, and with can-do attitude
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and able to work under tight deadlines
- Hands-on experience of SAP FICO module and/or Concur system a plus
- Candidates who can demonstrate knowledge of AI, or experience and ability to apply Generative AI tools in their work, will be preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Good command of English and Chinese
