What you'll do:

As the Head of Industry and Business Research, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our research activities related to local, national and global industry and business trends.  You will lead a team of researchers, guiding their efforts to provide valuable insights and strategic recommendations to the Council, our clients and external stakeholders.  

• Develop and implement a comprehensive research strategy focused on local, national and global industry and business trends, aligning it with Council's goals and objectives
• Lead and manage a team of researchers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality research outputs
• Oversee multiple research projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and achievement of project objectives
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify research needs, establish partnerships, and foster knowledge exchange within the business and industry community
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research methodologies and tools, ensuring the adoption of innovative approaches to enhance the quality and efficiency of research activities
• Analyse research findings, interpret data, and prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and recommendations for various stakeholders
• Act as a thought leader in the field of industry and business research, representing Council at conferences, seminars, and industry events
• Manage the research budget effectively, allocating resources appropriately and optimizing the utilization of available funds
• Identify the market demand of various types of innovation and technologies application and propel the commercialisation of HKPC's home grown technologies throuhg different effective channels 

You’ll be a good fit if you have/are:

• Good knowledge of research methodologies, data analysis techniques, and statistical tools
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex research findings in a clear and concise manner
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for identifying emerging trends and opportunities
• A good understanding of industry and business develop trends (such as Industry 4.0, new industrialization, etc), with the ability to translate research insights into actionable recommendations
• Proven project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage resources effectively
• Experience in leading and managing a team is desirable
• Degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, economics, or industrial engineering) is preferred
