What you'll do:

  • Lead business development for life and health, biotechnology, medical technology, advanced materials, future food and other deep-tech sectors, building a strong pipeline of enterprise clients and strategic projects.
  • Identify and secure relevant government funding for research and development, technology commercialisation, industrial upgrading & scale up, pilot-scale validation, licensing and market expansion. 
  • Prepare and manage funding applications, project proposals, budgets, implementation plans, due diligence & compliance reports, and stakeholder communications with government agencies, universities, technology partners, investors and clients 
  • Develop and deliver technological and industrial service solutions for enterprises, including technology assessment, testing and validation, prototyping, scale-up, smart manufacturing, regulatory support, certification, and commercialisation advisory. 
  • Build partnerships with government bodies, universities, research institutes, hospitals, laboratories, manufacturers, investors, testing & certification bodies,  technologies service providers, etc. to help client enterprises upgrade capabilities and grow their businesses. 
  • Collaborate with the business and technical teams for achieving business goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for both financial and non-financial 
  • Execute ad-hoc projects or tasks to support the growth of HKPC  

 

You'll be a good fit if you have/are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field of life and health (e.g. Biomedical sciences, Biomedical engineering, life and health sciences, Biochemistry, etc.). A higher degree relevant to the abovementioned subject areas would be advantageous. 
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in business development, technology development & commercialization, innovation management, industrial services, or consulting, with significant exposure to life and health, medical technology, biotechnology, advanced materials or related deep-tech areas. 
  • Demonstrated track record in identifying, preparing and securing funding and managing funded projects from application through implementation, knowledge transfer and reporting. 
  • Proven ability to design and deliver technological and industrial services solutions for enterprises and to use the latest AI technologies for accelerating technology development. 
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate technical capabilities into clear business value. High standards of professionalism, confidentiality and ethical conduct in handling sensitive projects, funding, and client information. 
  • Excellent proposal preparation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging government officers, senior industry executives, industry associations, researchers, investors and multi-disciplinary teams. 
  • Strong business and industry networks across Hong Kong, Greater Bay Area (GBA) and other leading technology development countries among the eco-system.  
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese, Putonghua proficiency strongly preferred.
