The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation established by statute in 1967, to promote productivity excellence through relentless drive of world-class advanced technologies and innovative service offerings to support Hong Kong enterprises. To meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving business environment, we are looking for a seasoned executive for the post of General Manager, Green Living and Innovation to enhance HKPC’s green living capabilities.

 

Job Description

What you will do:

 

  • Formulate, drive, and execute the division’s strategies in line with the corporate mission and innovative technology development in the areas of green living and environmental services. Build a sustainable business model and achieve all financial and non-financial key performance indicators
  • Lead the development of green living technology and applications development plan and take on corporate wide initiatives as assigned by Director office
  • Lead the professional teams to provide market-driven applied R&D and technology consultancy in green technology development, Carbon and Environmental Excellence, AquaTech and Research and laboratory etc
  • Develop and leverage on the technical competencies to create new business opportunities pertinent to industry needs in Hong Kong, Mainland and overseas
  • Establish and maintain strong network and develop appropriate platforms to strengthen the partnership amongst HKPC, the academia and the industries
  • Provide coaching, leadership, development opportunities and guidance to continuously upgrade the division’s talents and overall capabilities
  • Safeguard all operational and financial processes within the division to comply with the latest corporate governance requirements
  • Develop and elevate our technology partnerships and engagement with existing and potential industry associations, research, and commercial partners worldwide

 

You will be a good fit if you have/are: 

 

  • A university degree, preferably with a master’s degree or above, in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent disciplines
  • 20 years’ working experience, with 10 years’ or more relevant experience in management roles gained largely with sizeable/ multinational organisations or high growth technological companies. Candidates with less experience will also be considered
  • Well-versed with advanced environmental management, smart and clean production, local environmental industry needs and related government policies and directions
  • Proven track record in novel green technology development and applications, technology localization and commercialization
  • Sound relationship with the industry, trade associations, professional bodies, universities and research institutes in Hong Kong, Mainland and overseas
  • Excellent business acumen
  • Self-motivation, strong leadership competencies and with foresight in technology development
  • Good planning, organizing and financial management skills and ability to account for the effectiveness of a cross-professional team and corporate governance
  • Strong interpersonal skills and can work harmoniously with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in working with HKSAR and/or Mainland Government an advantage
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English

HKPC will take into consideration both the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the post when selecting the suitable candidates.  A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered.  The successful candidate will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
