General Manager, FutureSkills and Start-ups

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation established by statute in 1967, to promote productivity excellence through integrated advanced technologies and innovative service offerings to support Hong Kong enterprises.  To meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving business environment, we are looking for a seasoned executive for the post of General Manager, FutureSkills and Start-ups..


Job Details


  • Lead and manage the division to be a world-class training institution, a hub of FutureSkills, STEM development, and start-up development and support, through HKPC Academy and Inno Space
  • Formulate, drive and execute the division’s strategies in line with the corporate mission in pursuing innovation and STEM advancement
  • Keep well abreast with the latest technology and market trends and needs and, translate them into training services and programmes with high industry impact and contributions
  • Team up with other HKPC divisions to develop solid technological and management training programmes for industries in Hong Kong and the Mainland
  • Support start-ups, in conjunction with divisions, in translating their innovative ideas into commercially viable solutions as well as in establishing business linkages with other business sectors and government support agencies in Hong Kong and the Mainland  
  • Establish and maintain strong network, and develop appropriate platforms to strengthen the partnership amongst HKPC, other government support agencies, the academia and the industries
  • Oversee and manage the training venues and web-based training services
  • Safeguard all operational and financial processes within the division to comply with the latest corporate governance requirements


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor Degree from disciplines such as Business Management, Social Science, Engineering, Science or equivalent
  • At least 20 years’ working experience, with 10 years' or more relevant experience in management roles gained largely with established industrial organisations or high growth companies
  • Proven track record in training business and/or STEM education development
  • Prior exposure in or connection with start-ups and entrepreneurs
  • Sound relationship with various industries, trade associations, training/ professional institutions and public bodies
  • Excellent business acumen and business development capabilities
  • Innovative and agile with strong achievement drive, and willing to take challenges
  • Visionary thinking and with foresight in future skills development
  • Excellent client management, communication and presentation skills
  • Good command of English, Cantonese and Putonghua




HKPC will take into consideration both the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the post when selecting the suitable candidates.  A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered.  The successful candidate will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
