Engineering Officer, Hardware Design

Automotive Platforms and Application Systems R&D Centre

Ref: APAS292/20, 1209


Job Duties: 

  • Participate in hybrid/electric R&D projects involving solar energy, energy storage, solid-state battery, BMS, fuel cell, DCDC, DCAC and EV charger
  • Study project/product engineering specifications. Work with clients and/or team members to design the control algorithms in achieving the specification goals
  • Responsible for microcontroller based electronic designs for both hardware and embedded software development
  • Liaise with technical partners or suppliers for solutions
  • Perform tests of R&D/engineering systems and problem troubleshooting, enhance the product performance in meeting specifications and/or client requirements
  • Prepare technical specifications for the project deliverables, test plans and test reports
  • Travel to overseas or Mainland China as required
  • Support ad hoc tasks as required

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or above from disciplines in Automotive Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 years job experience in electronic and electrical engineering is preferable
  • In-depth design experience in MCU programming (C/C++ language) in implementing sizeable control system algorithms. Preferable with track records of automotive or green energy applications
  • Solid experience in PCB hardware design system, Altium Designer, PADS tools
  • Work as a team member with good interpersonal skill and deliver quality work on time
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills, demonstrate result-oriented and CAN-DO attitude
  • Good command of both written and spoken in English and Chinese, including Putonghua

HKPC will take into consideration both the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the post when selecting the suitable candidates.  A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered.  The successful candidate will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
