The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation established by statute in 1967.  The mission of HKPC is to drive technology applications and new industrialisation for Hong Kong enterprises to harness new productive forces.  To support enterprises to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving business environment, we are looking for a seasoned executive for the post of Chief Innovation Officer to lead HKPC’s full spectrum of services in smart living and green living.

What you will do:

 

  • Define and implement strategic directions and establish business objectives and targets to drive the advancement of Hong Kong's smart living, green living, and new energy sectors.
  • Lead the Living Innovation Branch, driving its vision, strategy, and operational excellence to ensure the successful delivery of innovative solutions.
  • Spearhead the formulation, execution, and leadership of cutting-edge strategies and R&D initiatives at HKPC, elevating the corporate's competitive prowess in smart living, green living, and automotive research capabilities.
  • Analyse and assess dynamic global technology trends in the smart living, green living, and automotive sectors, identifying disruptive opportunities for pioneering business expansion.
  • Direct the meticulous development of technology roadmaps specifically tailored to smart living, green living, new energy, and automotive research, ensuring seamless integration with the corporate-wide innovation strategy.
  • Liaise with the HKSAR government bureaux and departments on matters related to policy, business and support.
  • Build networks with industrial and research institutes in Hong Kong, Mainland and overseas.
  • Represent HKPC as a senior leader, championing the organisation's vision while amplifying its leadership and influence in the smart living, green living, and automotive sectors.
  • Drive the roadmap and development of new energy and automotive research initiatives, positioning HKPC at the forefront of innovation and sustainable development.

 

You will be a good fit if you have/are: 

 

  • Bachelor degree or above in Science, Engineering, Technology or equivalent disciplines;
  • 20 years or more working experience with sizable organisations in innovative and manufacturing industries, in which more than 10 years in management roles with strong business acumen;
  • Proven experience in developing new technology applications in smart living, smart mobility, green living or other areas;
  • Proven track record in applied R&D technology commercialisation for a spectrum of smart and green living technology areas;
  • Strategic mindset and capabilities to define smart and green living technology roadmap and implement strategies for new businesses and able to resolve challenging business and operational issues;
  • Sound relationship with the industry, trade associations, professional bodies and research institutes in Hong Kong, Mainland and overseas.
  • Strong sense of corporate governance and risk management; and
  • Good command of English and Chinese.

HKPC will take into consideration both the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the post when selecting the suitable candidates.  A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered.  The successful candidate will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
