Chief Financial Officer

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation established by statute in 1967 to promote productivity excellence through integrated advanced technologies and innovative service offerings to support Hong Kong enterprises.  To meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving business environment, we are looking for a seasoned executive for the post of Chief Financial Officer.


Job Details:


  • Direct and oversee the finance and procurement division to provide effective services and solutions to business divisions and subsidiaries for efficient, effective and smooth operation of the Council.
  • Formulate and develop finance and procurement related policies and procedures to ensure a fair, open and efficient financial and procurement process that facilitates effective business operations within the Council.
  • Articulate HKPC’s financial strategy and performance to Council and Committee members and contribute strategic inputs in formulation of business strategy development and implementation.
  • Establish and maintain strong and amicable working relationships with internal and external parties to ensure the business divisions comply with internal accounting and control policies, the latest corporate financial and procurement governance and external regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to management team to monitor and drive the financial performance and advice improvement and corrective actions of the business.
  • Drive operation excellence of the finance and procurement process with continuous digitization and simplifications to improve the efficiency of the operations.
  • Manage team performance and provide guidance to upgrade the individual capabilities and performance within the team and ensure sustainable talent pipeline to cope with changing needs.

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor Degree or above from disciplines such as Accounting, Financial Management, and Business Management, or equivalent.
  • Over 20 years of solid experience in management and financial accounts, financial planning and analysis, and procurement, of which at least 10 years fulfilling a leading position in sizeable organizations.
  • Seasoned corporate finance and procurement professional with excellent track record in developing and successfully implementing key financial and procurement strategies.
  • Experienced strategic partner to senior management and strong relationship management.
  • Strong competencies in planning, organizing, business acumen, result and customer orientation, and good interpersonal and people management skills; able to establish amicable working relationships with all levels of staff.
  • Qualified accountant with HKICPA, or equivalent.  Well-acquainted with HK and PRC accounting and taxation system, and ERP system such as SAP.
  • Prior exposure to public sector operation an advantage.
  • Good command of English, Cantonese and Putonghua.


HKPC will take into consideration both the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the post when selecting the suitable candidates.  A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered.  The successful candidate will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
